In and around gardens, cemeteries, and other areas striving to attain a Gothic aspect, one will often see fencing built of decorative cast iron. Cast iron fences are just as durable and elegant as their wrought iron counterparts, and the patterns frequently mirror the more traditional wrought iron designs. 

To remove the old rollers, the sliding window must be removed from its frame. This can be done by lifting the window up and out of the track. Once the window is removed, the rollers can be accessed and removed using a screwdriver or a wrench. It is important to keep track of any screws or bolts that are removed during this process, as they will be needed to install the new rollers.

4. Gates

Columns are the round or square pillars, posts or poles that flank an entranceway, and a cover flange or escutcheon is a piece of metal that is used for decoration or protection. These are typically found around the base of a post or at a point where the rail ends against a solid wall.
The decorative pieces that sit atop a post on a wrought iron fence in order to cover it are called post caps. These keep debris and water from building up inside the post, and they come in a range of designs from ball style caps to less ornate ‘flat’ or ‘standard’ post caps.
