Lithopone 30% increases extruder performance and reduces processing costs, improves quality and is suitable for masterbatch for injection of Polyolefins, ABS, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Polystyrene, single layer films, multi-layer films and for white, coloured and filled masterbatch. The combination of Lithopone 30 with TiO2 results in improved mechanical properties including higher elongation values and better impact resistance. 

We use titanium dioxide as a colourant in some home care products, including in laundry detergents, dishwasher tablets and toilet blocks.

One of the most common worries about titanium dioxide is that it could be a cancer-causing agent. The link between cancer and titanium dioxide traces back to a 1985 study where rats were exposed to high levels of titanium dioxide for two years, causing lung cancer. However, not all experts are convinced by this study.

Prof. Maged Younes, Chair of EFSA’s expert Panel on Food Additives and Flavourings (FAF), wrote of the decision: “Taking into account all available scientific studies and data, the Panel concluded that titanium dioxide can no longer be considered safe as a food additive. A critical element in reaching this conclusion is that we could not exclude genotoxicity concerns after consumption of titanium dioxide particles. After oral ingestion, the absorption of titanium dioxide particles is low, however they can accumulate in the body.”
